Product Description
Pygmy Water Current Meter
The Pygmy Water Current Meter is a compact, precision-engineered instrument designed for accurately measuring water flow velocity in rivers, small canals, open drains, and streams. It is ideal for hydrological studies and field measurements in both shallow and moderately deep water conditions.
Key Features
- Compact & Durable Design: Brass cylindrical body with a magnet-actuated impulse device ensures accurate readings even in aggressive, sediment-laden water.
- IS:3910 Compliant: Manufactured to meet the quality and accuracy standards set by the Indian Standard IS:3910.
- Reliable Operation: Completely watertight and pressure-sealed magnetic contact chamber ensures operation in turbid and chemically active water.
- Dual Magnetic Switches: Two contact switches (one active, one standby) ensure uninterrupted operation in case of failure.
- High Accuracy Measurement: Each revolution of the six-cup bucket wheel is recorded electronically, allowing precise flow velocity calculations using pre-calibrated rating tables.
Included Components
- Pygmy water current meter (with one spare pivot)
- 30 cm suspension flat
- 120 cm suspension (wading) rod
- 10-meter wire rope with connecting slip
- 10-meter connection wire with clips
- 10 kg fish weight
- Two screwdrivers
- One spanner wrench
- One duster
- One oil can with machine oil
- Digital electronic counter
Components are neatly packed in two boxes: a polished wooden box for the meter and accessories, and a second box for the rod, rope, and fish weight.
Installation & Use
Suitable for both shallow and deep water: use a wading rod in shallow water or suspension flat in deeper sections.
Simple assembly with wire rope, fish weight, and electronic counter.
The electronic counter registers revolutions of the bucket wheel, which are then translated into flow velocity using the unique calibration chart supplied with each meter.
Maintenance
- Rinse with clean water after use.
- Oil both pivot points before storage.
- Power off the counter unit during storage to preserve battery life.
